Penn State All 105: A.J. Harris is the new PSU CB who Wears No. 4

Last season, Penn State had a pretty good cornerback who wore No. 4, and now, A.J. Harris has that number.

Kalen King played at PSU for three seasons and started for two.

King’s performance led him to becoming a second-team All-Big Ten selection and a seventh-round draft pick of the Green Bay Packers.

Although King is now gone, Penn State’s still set to have a cornerback wearing No. 4 for 2024.

A.J. Harris is his name.

Harris transferred to Penn State over the winter after a season at the University of Georgia.

Before that, he was a five-star recruit. Now, he’ll look to play like one in Happy Valley.

Harris is the subject of the latest edition of All 105, a Nittany Sports Now series profiling each Penn State football player.

Hometown: Phenix City, Alabama 

Before Penn State

High School: Harris went down to Georgia after a fabulous career at Central Phenix High School. As a junior, he helped his team to state championship, and as a senior, he went to the All-American Bowl. He committed to Georgia in June 2022.

Georgia: In his lone season at Georgia, Harris burned his redshirt, appearing in seven games. He ended the season with eight tackles (three solo). Although he showed promise at Georgia, he decided to enter the transfer portal in December 2023. He committed and subsequently signed with Penn State in January 2024.

Where he stands: There’s no reason to think Harris won’t start at Penn State right away. The team is replacing each of its top three cornerbacks from last season, with Johnny Dixon and nickelback Daequan Hardy each departing along with King. Harris showed a lot of promise this spring and was all over the field in the Blue-White Game a few weeks back.
